NY Fashion Week 2009: Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy Hilfiger's 2009 Fall collection was not as "crazy" and "out-there" as some other collections that I have seen (i.e Betsey Johnson), but it wasn't underwhelming either! Like most designers showing for fall 2009, Hilfiger had black pieces; however, instead of going dark, he stuck to a more neutral palette with pale pinks, whites, and camel/tan. As I was going through the collection, his belts, hats (which I loved!), and woman's pants reminded me of what an equestrian would wear. Hilfiger's dresses were a simplistic chic and were mostly halter-style. He used a lot of turtlenecks and various coats in different silhouettes. What I liked most about his collection, is that it's wearable. Some designers like to go to the extreme and show pieces that the average person would not wear in public. However, Tommy Hilfiger goes back to basics and keeps it simple. To view Tommy Hilfiger's fall 2009 collection, click here!
